The crown is a 16th century pub at the heart of the village Old Basing near Basingstoke Hampshire. It is a grade ll listed building and stands in one of Old Basings picturesque thoroughfares- the street. The exact date the crown was built is unknown, however it is believed that the inn dates from the time of the civil war when Oliver Cromwell’s Roundheads laid siege to the impressive Basing house, which was a very grand Tudor mansion.
The pub now run by married couple Ian and Nikii offers traditional pub grub at affordable prices along with a great selection of drinks including a rotation of Ale’s. Each week live entertainment, pool, darts and the Tuesday night quiz.
